The reality of what we glamorize –

– Youth, as remembered by Susan Isaacs via her narrator in Past Perfect:

“Nobody could pay me enough to get me to go back to high school. College hadn’t been such a treasure either. 5% of my time was given over to having sex, 40% to thinking about it. Another 45% went to being miserable about my weight/direction in life/inability to have fun. The final 10% was assigned reading.”

As we age, we discover, and often pull off, the way we want to live – notwithstanding a little interference from others which must be thwarted.
